Lapu-Lapu in Borongan, Samar vs Whale Shark in Oslob, Cebu: Which is bigger…?

As reported in GMA’s News segment 24Oras, A giant Lapu-lapu fish weighs equivalent to one person or even more was found in Borongan, Eastern Samar. The fish weighs 200 kilograms and it was captured using fishnet. The fishermen who captured this huge sea creature said that their fishnet was torn and destroyed by this huge fish, yet they were happy because the fish sold about 15,000 pesos.( Check out the video at the bottom of the page)

These just prove how wealthy we are in terms of our natural resources. Just like what we saw in other places like in Oslob, Cebu, –the mighty whale shark. The lapu-lapu caught in Borongan, Samar and the whale sharks in Oslob are almost of the same size (at least for some of the whales sharks as most of it are way bigger than 200 kls). The very obvious difference between these giants now is that the lapu-lapu is dead already and that the whale sharks are still alive. And more good news to being alive is that these whale sharks are helping some of the locals in tan-awan, Oslob, Cebu to earn from visitors/tourists of the place wanting to experience swimming with the whale sharks or simply to do whale watching from the boat.
